If anyone knows business communications technology, it’s Sharon Moon.

Moon began her career in the telephony industry in 1973. Always the forward-looking entrepreneur, she started her first business in 1980 and ultimately went on to establish Automated Voice & Data SolutionsTM (AVDSTM) in 1992. Her interest was in delivering value through integrated, state-of-the-art communication systems tailored to her clients’ needs.

Moon was equally interested in staying ahead of the technological curve. In the late 1990s, she made a bold shift to software-based systems—about a decade ahead of most of her competitors.

“There’s no sitting still in this industry,” Moon says. “We’re always looking toward the horizon and adopting new technologies early so we can empower our clients to take the competitive lead.”

Once again, AVDS is charting a new course for its industry—this time, in the realm of communication-based business intelligence, or the complete convergence of data, analytics, and phone and Web-based communications. According to Moon, this emerging trend is set to revolutionize the way businesses operate.

“We’re capturing data from the phone system and throughout the organization so clients can see, manage, and strategically apply real-time business intelligence,” Moon explains. “Using an open, software-based platform, we harness the power of our partnerships with Interactive Intelligence, AltiGen, IBM, Microsoft, and others to program a fully integrated, one-of-a-kind system.”
